Estrella Damm is the best-positioned Spanish beer in the new ‘Brand Finance Beers 50 2024’ ranking, which each year selects the 50 best beers in the world. This occupies position number 22, rising three positions compared to the 2023 data. In addition to the Catalan company, the Madrid-based Mahou and the Andalusian Cruzcampo have also made it onto this list, in positions 30 and 47 respectively.

The beer that came first, and which is therefore proclaimed as the best valued in the world in 2024, is the Mexican Corona Extra. According to Brand Finance, it is perceived as the highest quality in the United States and consumers increasingly classify it as “premium.”

The Mexican had held the title for four consecutive years, between 2019 and 2022, but Heineken stole the gold medal from her in 2023. Now, Corona Extra has returned to the fray with a brand value of 10.4 billion dollars, which represents an increase of 40%.

This beer was born in 1925 in Mexico City and is a Pilsner type. Its formula mixes corn, rice, barley malt and hops, and contains 4.5º alcohol. It is characterized by being a fresh beer, which is usually enjoyed with lime in moments of leisure and relaxation.

In 2015, Corona Extra was the best-selling imported beer in 150 of the more than 180 countries where it is sold. This 2024, the brand has gained popularity thanks to the official sponsorship of Corona Cero at the Paris Olympic Games.
