The electricity company Endesa has initiated legal proceedings against the Arenys de Mar City Council (Maresme) for non-payment of 153,000 euros corresponding to the estimated cost of a fraudulent connection in a monumental building for more than eleven years. Endesa sources detail that they have tried repeatedly to hold a meeting with the new mayor, Estanis Fors, but all attempts have been unsuccessful. Endesa reported in March 2023 that the supply to the Xifré building, a municipal facility, was fraudulent and was connected irregularly.
