More positions on possible pacts after 12-M, which have featured in the last hours of the electoral campaign for the elections to the Parliament of Catalonia. The former mayor of Barcelona, ??Ada Colau, this Friday called the minority governments of the ERC in the Generalitat and the PSC in the City Council of the Catalan capital a “failure”.
That is why he has urged Republicans and socialists to “reflect” to end up reaching a left-wing pact in the Generalitat after 12-M, just as his party, Comunes Sumar, has put on the table since the pre-campaign.
“We have seen many speeches from ERC but very little progress has been made because it has governed in a strict minority,” Colau assessed about the Executive led by Pere Aragonès. In the same sense he has also criticized the socialist Jaume Collboni, mayor of Barcelona.
Colau visited Lloret de Mar this Friday to support the head of the Comunes Sumar list in Girona, Eloi Badia. A place that is important for the common people, since they believe that they have options to obtain parliamentary representation as already happened in the general elections.
“It seems clear that there is a deputy who dances between us and Aliança Catalana. That is why I ask to concentrate the vote on Eloi Badia and that the racists of Aliança Catalana do not enter the Parliament,” Colau stated.
For his part, Badia, who was a councilor for Barcelona City Council during Colau’s mayoralty, has once again placed emphasis on the problems of access to housing in Girona to gain the support of the electorate. “40% of the homes in the Girona regions are second homes, for tourist use or empty apartments,” she said. “Housing is becoming a business, a source of speculation,” she added.
For Badia, it is necessary to “reverse the situation.” His recipe to achieve this is that “all new developments have between 30% and 50% affordable housing.” Comunes Sumar also proposes “recovering the 43,000 tourist homes” in this area of ??Catalonia and “regulating seasonal rentals” because they have become a method of raising prices. Finally, he has also called for creating a “housing defense unit” to help neighbors in abusive situations.
Another member of the commons list, Susanna Segovia, met this Friday with the Llogateres Union. “I want to thank them for their work because without them rent regulation would not be possible,” she said after signing a document that urges the different political forces to protect her.
Specifically, Segovia will participate this Friday afternoon in a campaign event in Mataró. The candidate for presidency of the Generalitat, Jéssica Albiach, will also be present there; and Sumar’s spokesperson in the Congress of Deputies, Iñigo Errejón, among other representatives of this political space.
