Leo Margets rose to international stardom by becoming “The Last Woman Standing,” the last woman to compete. She achieved 27th place in the World Series of Poker, the most prominent tournament of this game worldwide.
Only about 5% of the participants in this tournament are women, which statistically makes it very difficult to reach the final stages. In an interview on the COPE network she revealed that the prize she won was 370,000 euros.
Margets commented on the issue of prizes in poker. “The income we obtain is public, but the obsession with money is peculiar. Everyone knows about tennis players’ earnings, but it is rarely questioned…,” she says.
In addition to being a professional player, Leo highlighted that she obtained a 9.4 in the selectivity test, despite not having planned to appear. She studied Human Behavior Sciences in England and then completed a Master’s in Emotional Competencies in Manchester, followed by another in Neuroscience.
He suggests that his educational background may have contributed to his success in poker: “You can win a lot of money one day… but then you realize that not every day is like that. Here you can be a good player, but you win in the long run. .. The more you play, the more you materialize that benefit at the end of the month,” says Leo.
Margets shared that she discovered poker through a previous partner. Her curiosity was awakened from within and she soon found herself drawn to understanding the world of poker. Once she understood the essence of the game, she was completely hooked.
