Quique Jiménez, better known as ‘Torito’, has celebrated his first anniversary as a collaborator in ‘Zapeando’, highlighting how happy he is in this project after a difficult period he experienced after his departure from Mediaset in 2022.
During his participation in the laSexta program, he revealed the reasons that led him to make the decision to leave the communication group. “Today I celebrate one year here. I shouldn’t talk about this but I’m going to say it: I made the most difficult decision of my life, which was to leave Mediaset España after 20 years. I left it overnight because they started treating me badly and I left. I arrived here super unmotivated, it was very difficult to make people laugh when your heart wants to cry,” confessed Torito, visibly moved.
Regarding his departure from Mediaset, Torito had announced his departure from ‘Viva la vida’ in 2022, pointing out differences with the director of the program, Raúl Prieto. “I wanted to reduce my section even more, when it had already lasted very little, and had been open to audiences since 2017. But I couldn’t force him to like what I did there,” he explained in a later interview.
The collaborator expressed his gratitude for the support received by Atresmedia, and especially to his colleagues from ‘Zapeando’ and left a reflection for those who may find themselves in a similar situation: “If you are at a job and they do not respect you and you do not feel well treated (don’t be afraid), even if you go to a place where you don’t charge as much, as is my case… Seriously, thank you very much.”
On a lighter note, Torito shared his initial idea to celebrate his first anniversary on ‘Zapeando’, joking about bringing arugula for a healthier celebration, although he ultimately chose to enjoy the moment with the good atmosphere of the program.
The collaborator also highlighted the warm reception he received from his colleagues in ‘Zapando’: “Do you know what it’s like to come to a program and have everyone take care of you? It took me seven months to get into this program. Come on, I didn’t give Antena 3 a cold shoulder! “He commented in a joking tone while sharing jelly beans with the team.
