The Badalona Urban Guard (Barcelonès Nord) carried out a police operation last night in a bar in the Salut neighborhood where it was known that drugs were being trafficked and that it had caused conflicts with the surrounding residents. During the intervention, a person was arrested for crimes against public health and pieces of hashish prepared for sale, cash and a knife were seized. All the people who were in the premises were also identified and charges were filed against three of them for drug possession.

Technicians from the Health Department of the Badalona City Council also participated in the police action, since the establishment had pending cases detected in a previously carried out inspection. In this sense, during yesterday’s intervention, new reports were drawn up for lack of sanitation in the premises, one report for lack of security measures and another for allowing the consumption of narcotics inside the bar.

Mayor Xavier Garcia Albiol explained that this action is another example of the work being carried out by the Badalona Urban Police to improve security and that it is giving results. Albiol has highlighted the importance of this type of action, to dismantle drug distribution points. “The residents of Badalona can be assured that we will continue to ensure their tranquility and safety and, therefore, we will act against all those establishments where the law is not complied with,” he stated.
