At this time, spring has also broken out in Montsant and in La Vanguardia’s Readers’ Photos we can contemplate the beautiful appearance of the vines that provide these magnificent world-renowned wines.
Myriads of flowers, almond trees, insects and birds accompany the visitor who enters these lands – the photos are from the surroundings of Cornudella – in this very peculiar season.
All that is needed is for new rains to irrigate the fields, as happened a few days ago, and continue filling the reservoirs, because the landscape will thank you.
The natural environment of the village of Cornudella de Montsant, at 533 meters of altitude, is extraordinary, located in the lap of the Sierra Mayor de Montsant, overlooking the cliffs of La Gritella and much of the Siurana swamp.
Cornudella de Montsant is located in the northeastern part of the Priorat region, between the Sierra de Montsant and the mountains of Prades. The footprint of the vineyard can also be felt in the modernist-style Cooperative building, built in 1919, by César Martinell, Gaudí’s disciple.
