Last Saturday, May 11, the final of the 68th edition of the Eurovision Song Contest was held at the Malmö Arena in Sweden. As expected, the gala was marked by the controversial participation of Israel, which led to endless criticism, demonstrations in the city, calls for a boycott on social networks, etc.

While some countries openly spoke of their rejection of the Asian country’s delegation and called for a ceasefire against Palestine through different forms (makeup, interviews, symbols, etc.), Spain remained focused on the festival and did not comment anything. in this regard beyond a statement from RTVE asking the EBU to respect press freedom (a Spanish journalist was attacked by different Israeli communicators for shouting ”Free Palestine in an essay”).

As Spain is part of the Big Five (along with France, Italy, the United Kingdom and Germany), it did not have to undergo public televoting in the semifinals. However, in the final he performed in eighth place (which became seventh after the elimination of the Netherlands) and tried to give his best version on stage.

Nebulossa considerably elevated the concept it presented at the Benidorm Fest and threw a tremendous party in the stadium, thus getting thousands of people of all nationalities to sing the song in Spanish.

Although there were no expectations of winning the crystal microphone, Spanish viewers thought, after seeing how the public received the country’s candidacy, that Nebulossa could get a good position and, at least, scratch points from the televote.

However, when the official results were revealed, Spain once again occupied the lower right part of the table, both for the professional jury (19 points) and for the public (11 points). After making the necessary calculations, Spain was left with a 22nd place that was little worth it.

After experiencing a musical and emotional hangover within the reach of few, Mery Bas and Mark Dasousa decided not to rest and appeared yesterday, a few hours after landing in our country, on the San Isidro meadow in Madrid, where they gave a mini-concert with his viral theme.

The audience went crazy with the performance and hundreds of people reacted to the performance through social networks: ”He deserves no less. We are all with Nebulossa. They have done phenomenal”, ”What energy she has after months at full capacity, a crazy week, three performances with an audience, a flight and another pass in Madrid”, ”She is a queen, the position doesn’t matter’ ‘, etc.
