Social media scolded Kellyanne Conway, advisor to President Donald Trump, after she was photographed kneeling on a couch in the Oval Office, looking at her phone as a large group of leaders of historically black colleges and universities came to meet with the president.

Conway, who had actually assumed her couch pose while positioning herself to take a photo of the group and Trump with her phone, quickly became meme fodder. Still, many pointed out that President Barack Obama had put his feet up on the president’s Resolute Desk, and panned the fuss over Conway’s sitting style, especially given another photo that showed her craning to take the group photo.

The former Trump campaign manager, who grew up in Atco and has a home in Alpine, inspired the hashtag #couchgate and got the Oval Office trending for her feet-on-couch pose. Conway last became a lightning rod when she talked the so-called “Bowling Green massacre,” a Kentucky terror attack that never happened. She also drew criticism after she promoted Ivanka Trump’s product line during a TV interview. Before that, her red, white and blue coat at the presidential inauguration became its own meme.

Here’s are some various takes on Conway’s couch moment in the Oval Office.
