Anders W. Berthelsen has the lead role as the policeman Rolf in the new politiserie ‘DNA’, which runs on TV2 on Monday night

This has meant that the 49-year-old actor has not been very at home with his wife and 11-year-old daughter, Vigga, in the course of the spring, and this autumn he filming ‘Erna in the war’ in Lithuania, together with, among others, Trine Dyrholm and Ulrich Thomsen.

– It is not really something that caps me, the travelling without my family, ” says Anders W. Berthelsen and continues.

– I have kept myself very much, but we have discussed it at home in the family. My daughter is 11 years old now, so she understands it a little better. But I think it is hard, what with having to be away from the family, he says.

Anders W. Berthelsen says that he has received several offers of work abroad, he has refused to be with his wife and his daughter.

– When we got our daughter, priority I very high, that I should be here. I could not fathom having to be away and not see the first steps or first day of school. It would be too lonely not to have to experience those things. It is something you can never get again. It has big experiences, he says.

Despite a very clear prioritisation of its time, the 49-year-old actor, who all the other parents tried to miss things.

– It was terrible, but earlier in the year should my daughter play a concert at the school with his band. I could unfortunately not be. The whole thing was recorded, and I have seen it, but it’s just not the same. I would like to have been there, but it is how some sacrifices, one must do.
