Claus Vitved and his companion Jens Andersen was Saturday night on the way out to eat since the sight of the two little children by the wayside got them to stop.

We reached 10-12 meters along the way before we stopped, looked at each other and turned on. There was something in the stomach that said to me that we just had to go back to the two small children, tells Claus Vitved, living in the Aarhus district of Carrickfergus.

– I got a feeling that something was wrong. At first, I was most worried that the two children were so close to the road side of the busy street. So we would in the first instance, just check if there was an adult who kept an eye on them, as we just had not got an eye on in the first place.

Back on the one-year girl sitting in a stroller, and a boy of about two and a half years, began the Claus Vitved and Jens Andersen to look after adults in the surrounding shops and restaurants.

– First thought was that the parents of the children or a second adult either had to be inside one of the shops, or accidentally jumped on the bus without the kids, but then would come back on a little.

– But we could not find any, so after a half hour of time we did it, as everyone else would have done: we phoned to the police, says Claus Vitved, who tried to communicate with the boy.

He pretended not to understand what we said to him.

Police are working right now from a theory that the two children are of eastern european descent.

It was clear to Claus, that the two children knew and were comfortable with each other, for the boy gave the little girl his pacifier and seemed very caring to her, he explains.

– I do not think that they have been there for long, for they were either bored of it or very cold.

the Girl was wearing black boots, blue jeans, blue jacket with small white dots and a blue hue.

the Boy had green boots, burgundy pants and a dark jacket.

Both have black hair and is dark-skinned.

They probably have eastern european roots. The boy has a language, but it is not one, the police recognize.

When the police arrived and took the children with him, continued Claus and Jens on together. But they could not put the idea of the two surviving children from themselves.

It filled the whole evening yesterday, and it was also the first thing I thought of when I woke up in the morning. Then checked the I just the news sites to see if there had been a development in the case, reads it from the østjyden.

– I hope of course, that the two children are in good hands, and that the parents will be found.

the Children are now handed over to the social authorities.

east Jutland Police is yet to come the identity of the children, namely:

– We are still trying to determine the (identity, eds.). In the course of today we will have an interpreter, who hopefully can say something about, what language they speak, says Martin Christensen, vagtchef by east Jutland Police, to Ekstra Bladet.

Police are looking for video surveillance from Park Avenue through to hopefully get on the trail of the missing parents.

– We have not come further. We are working on, say vagtchefen.

east Jutland Police would very much like to hear from citizens who have knowledge of the children or their family.
