the 61-year-old Setién was already a year ago linked with Barcelona, and has ever since haunted as a possible replacement for Valverde. The sensation was only stronger when he in may left the trænerposten in Real Betis.
the Decision was taken at a board meeting Monday night, where there was connecting to Quique Setién, who with his spillefilosofi may give Barcelona the fans what they sighed for. Although Valverde delivered results – two championships, a pokaltitel and a Super Cup title and 97 wins in 145 matches – so are missing a Champions League title, and the game has not impressed the pampered fans.
They can at least rejoice that Setién can perform at the Nou Camp. In fact, he is still the coach, who most recently defeated Barcelona in the famous home ground as he is in the lead for Betis won 4-3 in november 2018.
Quique Setién, who has previously been in charge of, among other things, Las Palmas, Racing Santander and a single match for Equatorial Guinea, will be officially presented on Tuesday.
