Former President Barack Obama was seen wearing a mask and staring at masked architects while he spoke with them about his new home in Hawaii.
The photos of Friday show the former President visiting the site for the new beachfront residence on Oahu. was reported by the Daily Mail.
These photos show Obama talking to at least four men from Armstrong Builders. All of them were wearing masks. In Hawaii, masks are not mandatory.
Marty Nesbitt, Obama’s friend and chairman of the Obama Foundation, purchased the property at Oahu’s southeastern tip in 2015 for $8.7million. In the 1980s, the TV series Magnum P.I. made the property famous.
In 2020, the construction of the property was criticized due to reports that it used a loophole for a seawall retention that is allegedly causing beach erosion. According to environmental experts , seawalls disrupt the natural flow and stop beaches from moving inland.
The site will house three homes, two pools, and a complex security system.
Social media critics of the former president called him a hypocrite because he didn’t wear a mask when all the architects and construction workers were covered up.
Fox News reached out to Michelle Obama and Barack Obama for comment but they did not respond immediately.
