CBS News first reported the decision to end the program last summer. Carol Greenwald, executive producer, also made a statement.

Greenwald stated that Arthur was the longest-running animated series for children in history. He is well-known for teaching empathy, kindness and inclusion through many breakthrough moments to generations of viewers.
The first episode aired on the show in 1996. Fans of all ages tuned into the final episode and shared their opinions via social media.

According Greenwald “Arthur” content will continue to be available on PBS Kids, and can be shared on a variety platforms.

Over the years, the show has won numerous awards, including four Daytime Emmys in recognition of outstanding animated program for children.
