Fox News Digital receives passionate pleas from faith leaders throughout the U.S. to end the aggression and to restore peace as Ukraine’s President Volodymyr Zilenskyy pledges to stay in Ukraine and fight against Russia in Kyiv.

Santiago “Jimmy” Mellado is the CEO and president at Compassion International, based in Colorado Springs. He said in an email comment late Friday that “Babies and children pay the most when there’s suffering.”

Compassion International, a Christian child development group, “works to free children from poverty in Jesus’ Name,” according to its mission statements.

Santiago also stated to Fox News Digital that “With another conflict tragically added to our active wars in the world, I invite all of us to pray for those children and families caught between the two.”

He said, “Let’s pray,” and he added, “that violence will be turned away — and that we will continue to seek peaceful solutions to conflict and disagreement.”

Compassion International (compassion.com), claims that it has “revolutionized global poverty fighting by exclusively working with the church to lift children from spiritual, economic and physical poverty.”
It has partnered with more than 8,000 churches across 25 countries to assist over 2 million children, young adults, and babies. The child sponsorship program was validated by independent empirical research.
President of Ukraine Zelenskyy stated that he will stay in Kyiv, even though he believes he “target number one” by the Russians.

Zelenskyy recorded himself on Saturday morning on his phone in Kyiv.

He stated, “I am here. As Fox News Digital reported on Saturday morning, we will defend our country because our strength lies in our truth.

As this unfolds, the Tide Ministry (r) also shared their thoughts with Fox News Digital.

“Sanctions against Russia, and military support for Ukraine, are punitive actions that potentially could impact the situation but their effectiveness is limited,” Don Shenk (director of The Tide Ministry, thetide.org), stated to Fox News Digital via email.

Shenk stated that this implementation could lead to further deterioration of relationships and further conflict.

“This crisis is a clear illustration of the need to proclaim the Gospel so it can take root within sin-hardened minds and open the doors for Christ to replace hate and strife by love, harmony, and peace.”
Shenk stated that “The Tide Ministry does not currently have any direct outreach to Russia or Ukraine.” However, prayer can provide a link to the only true God who is open to love and grace.
The Tide is an international Christian outreach organisation that is committed to global evangelism, discipleship and mission. This is largely done through Christian radio broadcasts in many languages around the globe.
