Flynn was subpoenaed by the committee last year to provide information about a December 2020 meeting that he allegedly attended in the Oval Office. The topics of discussion included seizing voting machines and declaring a national crisis.

Attorney David Warrington stated in a statement that General Michael Flynn appeared before January 6th Committee today to comply with their subpoena. He also advised counsel and declined to answer any questions.

Warrington claimed that the committee staff insinuated during the deposition that General Flynn’s refusal to answer questions was an admission of guilt.

Warrington stated that the committee’s decision not to remove General Flynn from office while the issues were before a court was nothing more than political theater to create a false narrative based upon the committee’s incorrect view of the 5th Amendment.

CBS News was informed by a source close to the committee that Flynn’s comments about voting machines and martial law in 2020 were being investigated by some members of the committee.

Flynn stated that Trump could use the military to “rerun the presidential election” in swing states during a Newsmax appearance in Dec 2020.

Flynn was the former national security advisor who twice pleaded guilty lying to the FBI. However, Trump pardoned him in the last weeks of his presidency.

In a court file, the committee stated last week that it had evidence suggesting that Trump and his associates were involved in a “criminal conspiracies” to prevent Congress from certifying this election. This was the first time that the committee had presented a possible criminal case against Trump.
