Officials from the White House stated that digital creators produced explanation content about Ukraine. This has generated millions of views and provided information about the crisis to younger generations. According to the official, the Russian government is now paying TikTok creators for pro-Kremlin propaganda material. This makes it crucial that content creators are equipped with facts and answers.
“An amazing amount of people are learning more about the invasion in Ukraine through digital creators, who have started to cover it,” White House Director of Digital Strategy Rob Flaherty tweeted Friday. We take this seriously and we are working to ensure that those creators can get their questions answered.
Some of the digital creators that attended the briefing used social media to share their learnings.
Marcus DiPaola (content creator) posted the following: “Here’s the three most important parts of the White House meeting that I and a bunch other creators just attended.” Marcus DiPaola has over 3.5 million followers on TikTok.
