The House select committee will hold its first hearing on Thursday, January 6, more than a year after the attack at the Capitol. It will be held at 8 p.m.

The public televised meeting of the committee will be televised and will include previously unseen material.

NPR will livestream the hearing via its live blog. You can also tune into YouTube, ABC, CBS and NBC. Fox News stated that it would report on the hearings as required by law.

The hearing will feature Caroline Edwards, a Capitol officer and Nick Quested (a filmmaker who captured the scene), as witnesses. Also, the hearing will include recordings of depositions by senior Trump administration officials.

Opening statements will be made by Liz Cheney and Bennie Thompson, the Committee Chair.

Thursday’s hearing is part of a series that will include public hearings. The panel will release a detailed report in September on its findings.
