The First Vice President and Minister of Economy, Nadia Calviño, visits the Vanguard Forums cycle this Monday, June 13. A meeting that, under the title The growth of the economy in progress, will analyze the future of the Spanish economy and its prospects within the framework of the European Union in the delicate context of the post-pandemic and the war in Ukraine.
An exam that comes just three days after the National Institute of Statistics (INE) confirmed the advanced data of the Consumer Price Index (CPI) for May: an increase of 8.7% with which the high inflation registered is maintained in recent months. Shortly before, the OECD (Organization for Economic Cooperation and Development) had lowered Spain’s growth forecast for 2022 by 1.4 points to 4.1%. Of course, notably above the average of the countries of the eurozone (2.6%).
The meeting with Vice President Calviño will be held at 6:30 pm at the Cercle d’Economia in Barcelona (298 Provença Street). The appointment is also attended by the economics chief editor of La Vanguardia, Elisenda Vallejo, the economics chief of RAC1, Montse Martí, and the journalist Ramon Rovira, attached to the presidency of the Godó Group.
