The numbers two of ERC and Junts, Marta Rovira and Jordi Turull, respectively, met for the first time in Switzerland since the former minister became secretary general of his party. Both Esquerra and Junts expressed that the meeting “served to talk about the political situation in Catalonia and the situation of exiles” and “to weave a shared strategy that strengthens independence (…) and share challenges such as equal opportunities, feminism and social justice”.

The meeting takes place almost a month after the new management of Junts per Catalunya was formed and at a time when the continuity of Laura Borràs as president of the Parliament is being debated, who is on the verge of being prosecuted for alleged embezzlement, among other crimes.

From the republican formation it is considered that with this face to face a new stage in the relations between ERC and Junts is predicted.
