A total of 3,000 Israelis have visited Santa Susanna (Maresme) over the last four months to find out how it has been possible to achieve an urban transformation of the municipality that is compatible with tourism development and respect and protection of the agricultural sector. So far, 21 groups of about 50 people belonging to the organization called Histadrut, which is the federation that brings together all the trade unions in Israel, have come. It is a group that creates opinion in its country and represents a very interesting platform for Santa Susanna to publicize a development model that Israelis understand is respectful of the environment.
When this collaboration phase ends, which will end next year, with Histadrut, Santa Susanna will have visited around 6,000 people from various fields such as education, health, economics… all of them from the public sector of Israel .
The mayor, Joan Campolier, is in charge of explaining the transformation of the town in the last 50 years. He has the institutional knowledge and historical baggage to detail the progressive stages of change that Santa Susanna has managed to achieve, but also to link them with future projects. In fact, the mayor explains to them that the transformation that has taken place so far in Santa Susanna and the future projects that the town is working on have a common denominator: respect for the environment, sustainability and social progress.
