The Swedish police arrested several people this Friday near the Israeli embassy in Stockholm, after a nearby patrol seemed to hear gunshots last night, according to the same police, who cordoned off the area.
“A police patrol on Strandvagen in Stockholm heard the sound of bangs and suspected a shooting had taken place,” police said. The affected area is located between the capital’s Djurgarden Bridge, its Nobel Park and Oscar Church. Inside it is the Israeli embassy. Several people have been arrested and an investigation has been launched into an alleged serious weapons crime, they added without specifying the motive for the possible shooting. No casualties or injuries were reported.
Swedish news agency TT said police declined to comment on whether there was a link between the incident and the Israeli embassy.
