Five resignations that question the leadership of the general coordinator of the US in the previous negotiations with Podem to reissue their coalition. A circumstance that leaves the formation in a situation of extreme weakness when it comes to negotiating.
As Levante has advanced and this newspaper has confirmed, the people who have resigned are the spokeswoman for the executive and deputy, Estefanía Blanes; the person in charge of Political Elaboration of the EU and regional secretary of Transparency, Antoni Llorente; the person in charge of the Coordination of the Areas and ex-undersecretary of the Ministry that controls the EU, Cristian Veses; the person in charge of Memory of the party and general director of the same area, Iñaki Pérez; and the representative of Joves Andrea Pardo.
These are key people due to their proximity until a few months ago with Pérez Garijo. In fact, Llorente and Blanes went hand in hand with the coordinator in the primaries where they managed to be voted to lead the candidacies for Les Cortes for Castellón and Alicante, respectively.
US sources explained to La Vanguardia that “some of these people (not all) have been subjecting Pérez Garijo to severe personal wear and tear for months and negotiating with the minority critical sector.” In this line, they understand that “they wanted to hurt” the also minister, but in reality “they do it to the entire organization.”
Some assessments that the resigned deny and that will wait for the internal bodies to give “the corresponding explanations.” In any case, they do say that “it is not a tantrum for a day” that they do not feel represented by the current executive committee of the party and that “the situation was already untenable.”
Despite this, for the moment, neither Llorente nor Blanes have the intention of renouncing, as they understand in the US that they should do for consistency, the starting positions on the lists for the next elections that they won in the primaries.
Regarding his continuity in the positions of the Consell, sources from the Department of Transparency pointed out that “there are no foreseen” changes in the organization chart.
