The singer and artist Elena Gadel agitates sensibilities from today with her song Lobo (Global Music), where she puts an intense focus on sexist violence. A composition that is born from the impotence of being aware of but not being able to intervene.
An emotional song that is the second single from his next album and that there will be an opportunity to listen to it at the concert that he will offer on March 30 at the Barcelona Auditorium within the Guitar Bcn festival. La Vanguardia subscribers have a 15 percent discount on the price of tickets, as long as they buy them at Entradas de Vanguardia.
It is the singer, songwriter and actress herself who explains Lobo’s transcript. “When it seemed that the wounds were healing, the wolf returned. The wolf is an abuser. And the person who questions us is a friend of the victim. He wants to help her out of this situation, but he doesn’t know how to do it. This song talks about an abuse that is increasing and ends up triggering a physical abuse, too”.
The song is accompanied by a video that lives up to the powerful theme and is written and directed by Ivan Labanda. With two actors (Maria Rodríguez and Jordi Coll), choreographed by Beatriz de Paz and Jordi Vilaseca and the presence of Gadel herself singing, the film exudes dramatic rhythm and heartfelt music and above all an explicit and forceful message.
As said, Gadel will publish at the end of March his expected new album La dona que em vesteix, which will add to a discography made up of Tocant fusta, De madera and Delicada.
Apart from her, she has her parallel project with guitarist Marta Robles (The women of my life) and her prolific and successful career in musical theater with titles such as The Little Prince, Cabaret, The Wizard of Oz or, mainly, Sea and sky
