The model Cara Delevingne has suffered a severe setback in the last few hours. The actress’s mansion, located in Studio City (Los Angeles), was consumed by flames early Friday morning. Two people were affected by this accident: a firefighter and a person who was in the house when the events occurred. Despite the tragedy of this news, there were no personal injuries and the model’s pets, her cats, survived thanks to the intervention of the firefighters, who were able to remove them in time.
The actress from films like Suicide Squad or Paper Towns was not in the house at the time everything happened. She is currently in London, where she plays the character Sally Bowles in the play Cabaret, performed at the Playhouse Theatre. The fire in her home left a firefighter injured and taken to the hospital, while another person who was in the mansion suffered mild smoke inhalation, the Los Angeles Fire Department reported in a statement.
As detailed by the authorities after the incident, the fire started in a room at the back of the house, a luxurious 600-square-meter mansion. The fire became raging and collapsed the roof of the property. According to the statement shared by the firefighters, 94 firefighters traveled to the home, taking two hours to access the home and extinguish the flames.
The model spoke out this Friday through social networks. In an Instagram story, Delevingne posted a photo of her cat. “My heart is broken. I can’t believe it. Life can change in the blink of an eye, so appreciate what you have,” she said, seeming to indicate that her kittens had died at the scene. However, she later added another image of both of them and assured that “they are alive!”, and she thanked the firefighters for having taken them out.
On the other hand, the actress also uploaded a video in which several fire engines appear in front of her house. In a text shared later, she thanked the firefighters for their work and the people “who came forward to help.” “Thank you from the bottom of my heart,” Cara said.
It was in 2021 when the British actress showed off her stunning house (built in 1971), which she called an “adult playhouse”, in a YouTube video on the Architectural Digest channel. That video has more than 9 million views. Without a doubt, it has been a huge setback for her, but if there is something that comforts her, it is that she has not lost her faithful companions and there has not been any personal injury to complain about.
