The Neonatology Unit of the Son Llàtzer University Hospital, located in Palma de Mallorca, has held very special carnivals for the sixth time, dedicated to babies admitted to the center.

With the intention of lightening up the complicated moments that these little ones and their parents are going through, the hospital has celebrated the sixth edition of this precious initiative. According to El Diario de Mallorca, each baby was wearing a different costume, a little mermaid, a snail, a bell or a ladybug.

The relatives of the hospitalized neonates were invited to the party, which took place this past weekend. All the costumes were made by a health center worker, using crochet and one hundred percent natural cotton.

This initiative, which is in its sixth year of celebration, is carried out with the intention that the families of admitted babies can enjoy a fun celebration. In an attempt to put aside the health problems that their little ones are going through, families come together to have a good time.

The center’s neonatal unit works 24 hours a day to care for newborns with complications. Constant accompaniment and attention to both the newborn and her family, focused on the active participation of the parents in the care of their child.

As the Mallorcan media outlet explains, the relatives of a newborn who is admitted to the neonatal unit find themselves in a very complicated and difficult situation, since they must face separation and limit physical contact with the baby for a period of time .
