A butane gas leak has caused a strong explosion this Sunday at noon in a building in the center of Barcelona located on Carrer del Carme, in the Ciutat Vella district. As a result of the deflagration, three people have been slightly injured, as reported by Bombers de Barcelona.
One of the injured suffered burns on his hands after the gas cylinder exploded in the kitchen of one of the buildings. As can be seen in the images that the firefighters have shared on Twitter, one of the walls of the apartment has been projected and has fallen on the roof of the main floor. Despite this, it has been ruled out that there is a structural risk for the building.
The Medical Emergency System (SEM) has treated the three people who have been injured in the incident, in which the Urban Police have also intervened. Five people live in the building affected by the explosion, who will be rehoused by the Emergency and Social Emergencies Center of Barcelona (CUESB).
