The weRespect platform, an initiative of the Catalan startup Roomonitor to promote good practices among the users of tourist homes in Europe, organizes a charity event in Barcelona in favor of cancer research at the Oncology Institute of the Vall d’Hebrón Hospital . weRespect will bring together the main agents of the tourism sector at an open dinner in the Dome of the Museu Nacional d’Art de Catalunya on March 27.
The gala will bring together the main actors of the European short-term rental industry, together with local and national institutions. Thus, the presence of Marta Domènech, Director General of Tourism of the Generalitat of Catalonia is expected; Xavier Marcé and Xavier Suñol, councilor and director of Tourism of Barcelona City Council, respectively; and Enrique Alcántara, president of the Barcelona Tourist Apartments Association.
The weRespect platform has been dedicated since 2019 to raising awareness about sustainability in the tourist housing and apartment industry. Among other actions, it annually awards certification to tourist companies and apartments that follow a noise control protocol in the communities where they operate.
On this occasion, weRespect has decided to support the fight and research against cancer at VHIO -Oncology Institute of the Vall d’Hebron Hospital-, as a European reference center since 2006, and a pioneer in multidisciplinary research thanks to its participation. in consortia and projects with other prestigious centers around the world.
