These are not easy times for Bruce Willis and his family. The protagonist of Die Hard was recently diagnosed with frontotemporal dementia, a type of neurodegenerative disorder that progressively affects the frontal and temporal lobes and can cause notable changes in social behavior, personality, or language problems.

Faced with the difficulties and the progressive deterioration of Willis’s health, his family and friends have decided to wrap him up and celebrate special dates like never before. The first was just a few days ago, on the occasion of the actor’s 68th birthday. At home, they met his wife, Emma Heming, his ex-wife, Demi Moore and his five daughters. Willis has also celebrated the fourteenth wedding anniversary with his wife on March 21, a date that comes with mixed feelings, between the joy of staying together and the sadness of the disease.

Heming did not want to miss the opportunity to dedicate several Instagram posts to her husband. In the first of hers, which she immortalizes with a photo in which a bouquet of flowers is seen, the British model and actress recalls that she “marked 14 years of marriage with the greatest love” of her life.

Willis’s wife explains that she received these flowers at her door, along with a note that read “Happy Anniversary.” The bouquet had been left by a friend, given the impossibility of the actor remembering such a date.

“It made me think about how difficult these kinds of ‘special occasions’ can be for caregivers. Where normally our person would recognize the event, now their shifting brains simply can’t. And that’s what it is. So my point is this. If you know someone who is caring for someone else, don’t ask what you can do, just do it. Honestly, this random act of kindness will stay with me for a long time,” Heming acknowledges.

Later, the actress has published a very special video for the couple, from the moment in which they renewed their wedding vows. “On our 10th wedding anniversary, we decided to renew our vows in the same place where we said ‘Yes, I do’ in 2009. I’m so happy we did,” she says.

Heming, who is with Willis at all times, now values ??every moment she has spent with her husband and family more: “Take every opportunity to come together and celebrate with family and friends. Those are the moments and the beautiful pockets of memories that you can hold on to for a lifetime. And we can keep those memories safe and alive for those who may not be able to.”

Bruce Willis and Emma Heming have very special moments left to celebrate. As the actress recalled on her Instagram, now come the birthdays of her two daughters and the arrival of Bruce and Demi’s first grandson, the result of the relationship of one of her daughters with the musician Derek Richard Thomas.

The actor’s family goes from celebration to celebration. Just a few days ago those closest to him came together for the 68 years of the interpreter of films as successful as The Sixth Sense. The meeting was attended by his five daughters and his ex-wife, Demi Moore, who shared the moment in which they sang “Happy Birthday” to her, leaving one of the most recent images of Willis since he was diagnosed with frontotemporal dementia.

Heming also wanted to share other details of the celebration: “We had a great time celebrating my husband yesterday. He had a great time. He loved his apple pie. Thanks for all the birthday wishes.”
