Five years have passed since Penélope Cruz was named ambassador of Chanel. His first campaign as the image of the French house was that of the Cruise 2018-2019 collection and even in 2019 he dared to parade with one of Karl Lagerfeld’s posthumous designs in the parade that the brand organized to pay tribute to him after his unexpected death.
A very close relationship that is now reinforced with a new campaign in which the actress plays a leading role. The protagonist of Parallel Mothers has been chosen to star, along with Margot Robbie, Zhou Xun and Ali MacGraw, in the new campaign for the J12 watch, one of the house’s most iconic accessories.
Titled A Matter of Seconds, the campaign shows the muse Penelope in black and white. A beautiful image where the actress appears dressed in a white tweed jacket with jewel buttons, her long hair loose and with carefree waves and her characteristic makeup with eyeliner marking her eyes, her nude lips and very natural skin, with freckles that appreciate perfectly.
A timeless snapshot like the watch that she wears on her left wrist and that is white with black details. This accessory was first launched in 2000 and has an automatic movement made by Kenissi, co-owned by Chanel.
In the campaign, which will be launched worldwide in April, the actress and the other ambassadors can be seen answering 12 questions that will serve to find out unknown details of their lives so that the public can learn more about them.
“I love everything about Chanel: the attention to detail, the artistic way of working, the fact that I’ve been lucky enough to meet so many people there since 1999, when I attended my first show. Every time I’ve been able to visit the workshops, I have made friends with some of the seamstresses, whom I admire very much. Some of them have been at Chanel for more than 40 years!”, the Madrid-born woman stated.
Since she became an ambassador, Penélope has conquered the red carpets with spectacular designs from the French firm led by Virginie Viard. A relationship that she will make that next May she will co-host the Met Gala, which in this edition will be dedicated to Karl Lagerfeld.
