The Sau swamp is really badly affected by the drought. Not only have the first pictures of the old mill already been seen, but the bridge will soon appear.

While the effects of the lack of rain continue to advance, it seems that the cormorants have taken over the reservoir, where they still enjoy the few remaining fish.

In this report in Las Fotos de los Lectores de La Vanguardia you can see images of the current state of the swamp, with the ruins of the old town of Sant Romà clearly visible and with the earth increasingly cracked due to the lack of water.

The reservoir, inaugurated in 1962, covered the town of Sant Romà de Sau, the remains of which, especially the church bell tower, are visible when the dammed water level is low.

This reservoir is part of a system of three swamps (along with those of Susqueda and Pasteral) that unites the counties of Osona, in the province of Barcelona, ??and La Selva, in the province of Girona.
