The Madrid City Council, through the Environment and Mobility Area, will create six pedestrian areas in the busiest areas of influence for the Easter holidays, which will mainly affect the Centro and Salamanca districts.
As explained this week by the municipal spokesperson and delegate for Security and Emergencies of the Madrid City Council, Inmaculada Sanz, these measures are aimed at guaranteeing pedestrian mobility around the most emblematic parishes of the capital.
These pedestrianizations will take place on April 6, 7, 8 and 9 between 11:00 and 21:00 and will mean cutting off 19 streets and affecting more than 69 roads.
Likewise, the City Council will enable an extraordinary device of 500 troops from the Mobility Agents Corps that will be added to the ordinary personnel to be able to carry out these pedestrianizations during the four holidays.
In addition, this body’s information patrols will offer information and advice to pedestrians on the most recommended itineraries, the nearest available car parks and other issues related to mobility.
