A lucky American citizen has won 2 million dollars (1,839,800 euros) in the lottery, after having already pocketed 1 million (919,900 euros) in 2021.
Pharris Frank, a 41-year-old man from the town of Advance, North Carolina (United States) won $1 million in July 2021 after winning the lottery. At that time, Pharris had bought his lucky ticket at a store a few yards from his house.
Now, on this occasion, the situation has been quite different. On March 27, this lucky man bought a card from the American version of the ‘scratch card’ known as Diamond Dazzler in Morehead City, where he was for work reasons.
“It’s great because the first time I won I was three kilometers from my house and this time it was four and a half hours. What chances were there that I was there at that exact moment? â€, He assured the local press.
The American has explained that days before being lucky for the second time he had a hunch. “It’s crazy. Days before winning, a friend asked me how it felt to win $1 million. I told him I was going to double it,” Frank recounted.
However, despite telling his friend that he would win again, Pharris has admitted that he was shocked when he found out that he had won the lottery again. “I didn’t know if he was dreaming or not. I was in a state of shock for a while â€, he explained.
After spending a good part of his first pot on his wedding, Pharris has secured this second prize of 2 million dollars to go on vacation with his wife. And it is that to be one of the luckiest people in the world, Frank has not stopped working.
How could it be otherwise, the first person to find out about the award was his wife. “I called her and told her ‘I’ve done it again,'” she said.
The odds of winning two top lottery prizes are 1 in 3 billion, which is an event 200 million times rarer than being struck by lightning.
The winner has chosen to receive a lump sum of $1.2 million instead of an annual payment of $100,000 for 20 years. After state and federal tax withholdings, Pharris has brought in a total of $855,006.
