Two people have died, one has disappeared and seven have been rescued early Monday morning as a result of the sinking of the fishing vessel Vilaboa Uno off the coast of the Cabo Mayor Lighthouse, in Santander Bay. This has been communicated by the president of Cantabria, Miguel Ãngel Revilla, through social networks.
“Once again, a new misfortune at sea. This morning at 5:30 a.m., the Vilaboa Uno, based in Santander, has been shipwrecked off the coast of Cabo Mayor,” Revilla lamented on Twitter. The Cantabrian president has indicated that the crew consisted of ten people: there are two deceased, seven rescued and one missing. “Rest in peace,” Revilla’s message concluded.
At the moment the reasons for the shipwreck are unknown. According to the port authorities, the wreck has sunk in its entirety.
