This Monday morning we woke up with a terrible and worrying image, which seems to have no end, on Gavà beach, in Baix Llobregat.
As can be seen in The Photos of the Readers of La Vanguardia, another bite from the sea has taken place, which leaves us with a very sad postcard of the powerful and irremediable regression of the beach, which is losing sand. Speechless.
In July of last year, a contribution of 20,000 cubic meters of sand was already carried out to try to mitigate the terrible effects of the regression of the Gavà beach.
This same operation to restore the sand on the beach has been carried out in recent years in order to have the coastline in the best possible condition for bathers in the high season.
Last autumn, the sea engulfed the regenerated coast and this spring the advance of the sea continues, waiting for a new contribution of sand to be made in the summer.
