The Civil Guard has arrested a man of Malian nationality as the alleged perpetrator of the fatal stabbing of his sentimental partner, of Romanian nationality, at dawn this Tuesday in a house in the Las Arenillas area of ​​the Huelva town of Palos de Frontera.

As explained by the mayor of the municipality, Carmelo Romero, the events took place around 01:10 a.m. when the Local Police received the first calls warning of the event and upon arriving at the scene they found the victim with a dagger stuck in the back.

In statements to Canal Sur Radio, Romero has detailed that both the attacker and the victim worked in the strawberry collection campaign and maintained a relationship even though they did not live together, since the man now detained lives on Reyes Católicos street in the municipality and the fatality was in the area of ​​Las Arenillas.

According to the alderman, the victim planned to go to the Local Police this morning to report the “harassment” to which he was subjected by his partner, who insisted that they should live together.

If it is confirmed that it is a case of gender violence, it will be the fifth fatality so far in 2023 in Andalusia.
