The company Vivienda Metrópolis Barcelona (HMB) will build a rental housing development with official protection in the neighborhood of La Catalana. The forecast is that the works begin at the end of 2023 and end during the last quarter of 2025.

HMB has already applied to the City Council for a license to build 112 homes. The development will consist of two buildings located on plots R16 and R17, at the end of Antonio Machado street. The building on plot R16 will have 56 homes with 2 and 3 bedrooms; and that of plot R17, also with 56 homes with 1, 2 and 3 bedrooms. Both with parking spaces and storage rooms.

HMB is a public-private partnership, with the aim of promoting subsidized rental housing in Barcelona and the metropolitan area. It is made up of the Barcelona Metropolitan Area (AMB), Barcelona City Council, Neinor Home and Cevasa. The public partners contribute the majority of the land with surface rights for a term of 75 years, to guarantee the return of public ownership.
