A judge is investigating six local police officers from Cornellà de Llobregat for a racist attack. This is one of the cases dealt with by the Irídia center, dedicated to defending human rights, which this Thursday presented its annual report.

Irídia recounts that Imad, the victim, was attacked by a patrol of four police officers at the exit of a nightclub in the town of Baix Llobregat. “Moro de mierda. Aren’t you from there? Go fuck yourself, I’m going to blow your head off,” they told him when they asked for identification. They then beat him causing injuries.

Imad, who ended up being treated at a hospital, was able to make recordings with his phone. Shortly after, two more agents arrived at the scene and, according to Iridia, they detained a friend to prevent him from recording what happened with his cell phone.

As reported by ElDiario.es, a judge is investigating the attack, which occurred on October 6. The agents have already been cited as investigated and the essential steps to decide whether to send the case to trial have already been done.

Sources from the Cornellà de Llobregat City Council consulted by La Vanguardia explain that at the moment they prefer not to comment as it is a case that is currently under judicial process.

During the past year, the Irídia center received 113 requests for assistance and has acted as a prosecution in 62 lawsuits, for which there are 131 agents under investigation, bringing together personnel from the Mossos d’Esquadra, the National Police, local police, private security and civil servants. prisons.
