The Civil Guard is investigating the violent death of a couple of tourists whose bodies were found yesterday in a hotel in Fuerteventura as a case of sexist violence.

Sources close to the investigation have indicated to EFE this Saturday that the couple is of German origin and that the woman died from a strong blow to the head with a blunt object, according to the first investigations. Meanwhile, the man died of suffocation, the same sources have highlighted.

Specifically, this couple was found dead last Thursday night, around 9:00 p.m., with signs of violence in a hotel in Pájara, in the south of Fuerteventura.

If confirmed, the number of women murdered by gender violence would rise to 13 in 2023 and 1,197 since 2003.
