In Almenara there is a large amount of light, ideal for photography lovers, as can be seen in this series of images in Las Fotos de los Lectores de La Vanguardia.

The snapshots show us details, of the heritage that has seen time pass and of nature, through which time always passes.

It is not surprising that here we find the Pilar, a round tower from the 11th-12th centuries, 14 meters high, which served as defense and surveillance functions. There is light and there are horizons.

Almenara Alta is a town added to Agramunt, in the Urgell region. El Pilar, with coincidences with the towers of Verdú and Guimerà, was ideal for monitoring Saracen incursions and, today, for contemplating the landscape.

From the tower you can see a magnificent panoramic view of the Urgell plain. Near the tower are the ruins of the Romanesque hermitage of Sant Vicenç.
