An agreement between the City Council of Premià de Mar (Maresme) and the Can Sanpere Association establishes the voluntary eviction of the property prior to the start of the expropriation process and the transfer of legalized activities under municipal roof while working with the expropriation, the demolition and the restoration of buildings that must be preserved.

The Premià de Mar City Council and the Can Sanpere Association have reached an agreement that puts an end to the occupation of the old factory and, as a consequence, implies the beginning of the process of expropriation of the estate. The expropriation must convert the farm into a municipally owned space with facilities, green area and housing, as specified by the POUM.

Both parties have signed an agreement whereby the Can Sanpere Association will leave the space of the old factory simultaneously with the agreement to start the expropriation file of the estate by the City Council. In this sense, the April regular plenary session will include on the agenda the incorporation into the budget of the surplus necessary to proceed with its expropriation. On the other hand, a session of the Governing Board will be convened to initially approve the expropriation file for Can Sanpere.

Parallel to the signing of the agreement, two working groups have been activated, made up of both parties, one to supervise the demolition and rehabilitation of the farm spaces and another for community management and future uses of these spaces. The agreement also states that the Can Sanpere Association will have preference in signing the non-exclusive community management agreement for the BCIL area of ​​the old factory.

The management model, in any case, will not prevent any Premià de Mar entity from opting to use this future municipal facility. In this sense, both parties have committed to carry out adequate didactics open to the public to explain what community management means and how it can be beneficial for the entire social and cultural fabric of the city.

According to the agreement signed, the activities carried out by the entity in the old factory will be carried out in the municipal building of “La Festa”, in Miquel Moragas street. These activities will be carried out there while the process of expropriation of the property of the old factory and the rehabilitation of the facilities classified as equipment lasts.
