The former president of the Valencia Provincial Council Alfonso Rus (PP) has assured this Tuesday at the entrance to his second trial for irregularities in Imelsa that he never ordered any adjudication and the works of the company that he supposedly benefited “were done”.

Rus sits for the second time in the dock for the accused in the Imelsa case, in a separate piece on alleged irregularities in the award of a telephone service for which the prosecutor asks him for 8 years in prison for influence peddling, prevarication , embezzlement, fraud, false commercial documents and money laundering.

“I don’t know which company was given one contract or another. The winner was the cheapest, and none of the other four that competed claimed anything. If you don’t accuse me, this is boring, but you’ll see that it’s a pantomime,” has insisted

“If there are no masks in a hospital, is the person responsible for the president of the Generalitat? This is outrageous,” added Rus. Likewise, he has insisted that, despite the fact that he investigated whether he had money in Brazil or Switzerland, “nothing was found, zero.”

Another of the defendants in this case, the former manager of Imelsa and self-described money junkie, Marcos Benavent, has ironized by pointing out that the previous process -for fictitious contracts in Imelsa and Ciegsa- ended barely a month ago and has said: “we will have to put up a tent here.”
