In full celebration of the April Fair, there are many influencers and visitors who bet on espadrilles to walk comfortably through the El Real venue. Queen Letizia’s favorite summer footwear is also for those attending the Sevillian event who choose to combine their flamenco dresses with what are also known as esparto wedges.

In recent years, the success of espadrilles has grown considerably, until the first lady of the United States and her granddaughters fell in love with the shoe during their visit to Madrid last June. But one of the main drawbacks when it comes to wearing espadrilles are their straps, since they slip when you walk.

Once again, TikTok shows that it has become the perfect platform to provide a solution to a stylistic problem. The user Isa Hernáez, with almost 86,000 followers, has published a video in which, in just thirty seconds, she shows how to tie the straps well so that they remain secure throughout the day.

First of all, the young woman from Madrid passes the straps through the front and, instead of the typical knot, she turns them around to ensure that they stay in place. She makes the same gesture at the back, joining her straps once more by turning them around. Immediately afterwards, she returns to the upper part and ends at the rear part, this time making the final knot and lacing.

The video, with more than 709,000 views, has conquered its followers. “After 27 years I just learned with the video”, “It never occurred to me to double turn so they wouldn’t fall” or “You have saved my life”, are some of the more than 190 comments.

A couple of years ago, the stylist Erea Louro showed another trick to successfully wear espadrilles. The professional posted a video on Instagram where she showed that the key to preventing the straps from falling off was to grab the loop from behind and bring it forward to, immediately afterwards, put your foot through the circle and adjust the loop well.
