Kia launches the most powerful model in its history on the market. Thanks to its advanced 585 hp electric propulsion system, the new EV6 GT is capable of accelerating from 0 to 100 km/h in 3.5 seconds and reaches a top speed of 260 km/h.

The EV6 GT is defined as a high-performance, fully electric crossover, created for the new era of sustainable mobility. The goal of the Korean brand is to offer a high-performance car, combined with maximum comfort and equipped with ultra-fast charging technologies.

The exterior design shows a series of details and modifications that denote the scope of its benefits and differentiate it from the rest of the EV6 range. At the front it has a specific bumper that highlights the width of the vehicle. Laterally, the sporty character is reflected in the 21-inch five-spoke light-alloy wheels.

Also very striking are the neon-finish brake calipers, which suggest its impressive stopping power. At the rear, the EV6 GT features a unique bumper and diffuser that complete the aesthetic transformation of the vehicle.

Kia proposes an attractive personalization in the interior with details such as metal inserts with the “GT” badge and neon green piping that enhance the modern and technical appearance of the seats. The ergonomic two-spoke steering wheel includes a new GT drive selector, with which it is possible to easily personalize the driving experience.

To give the driver and occupants a greater sense of the vehicle’s capabilities, the EV6 GT has an active sound design feature, tasked with providing a synthesized augmentation of selected sounds through the Meridian performance audio system. It can be adjusted to the character and volume, according to preferences.

The EV6 GT equips an engine on each axis, thus enjoying four-wheel drive. The engine mounted on the front axle provides 160 kW (218 PS) and is combined with a new engine at the rear that generates 270 kW (367 PS). The combined power is 430 kW (585 hp). Its benefits are enormous, with acceleration 0-100 km/h in 3.5 seconds.

The battery has a capacity of 77.4 kWh and the WLTP autonomy can reach 424 km. The approved consumption is 20.6 kWh/100 km and the ultra-fast charging capacity allows it to go from 10 to 80% charge in 18 minutes. It also includes the bi-directional charging function to take power from the vehicle’s battery.

Compared to the standard EV6, the EV6 GT features a firmer specific suspension that limits roll in corners and improves high-speed lane-change reactions, while optimizing pitch under braking and hard acceleration. In addition, a high degree of fluidity and absorption capacity is maintained, factors that translate into adequate walking comfort.

Other modifications to this model are a specific variable ratio steering, including a more direct feel and quicker response when driving the vehicle in GT mode. The weight distribution is very balanced and the center of gravity is very low, generating excellent stability on very twisty roads. The suspension features springs that are more flexible at the front and stiffer at the rear, compared to the standard EV6. In turn, the rear stabilizer bar is more rigid.

The EV6 GT is equipped with a specific electronic limited-slip differential (e-LSD), optimized to efficiently harness power and including functions to balance the relationship between agility and comfort. It is also equipped with electronic suspension control with continuous adjustment of its dampers, also exclusive to the model.

The driver can choose between different driving modes, among which is the new exhilarating response GT mode that automatically configures the electric motors, brakes, steering, semi-active dampers, e-LSD and electronic stability control ( ESC). In this GT mode, the ESC allows more slip and can even be fully disabled to increase the potential for oversteer. The passion behind the wheel is completed with the Drift mode, in which the rear wheels can exert 100% of the drive.

The EV6 GT is equipped with a high-performance braking system with 380mm front and 360mm rear ventilated discs. As in the rest of the range, it has a regenerative braking system and “i-Pedal” mode.

The new Kia EV6 GT has a final recommended price of 74,000 euros, which can be reduced to 72,790 euros thanks to the monthly discount available at launch.
