Paula Bonet has responded to the acquittal of her stalker on Twitter. The artist has described as “unfair and painful” the acquittal of her stalker for suffering a mental disorder, after he had been convicted of the crimes of harassment, threats and violation of a precautionary measure against her.

Criminal Court 10 of Barcelona has considered that the man had no criminal responsibility for suffering from mental illness. However, the defendant will have to enter a psychiatric hospital to receive “adequate treatment for his disorder for a maximum period of 18 months,” according to the sentence of April 20.

This same court sentenced him in July 2022 and already took into account as a defense that he has a mental disorder, he was sentenced to psychiatric hospitalization, but in March the Barcelona Court annulled the sentence “for lack of reasoning” and ordered it redone.

After the sentence was announced, Bonet’s lawyer, Carla Vall, has warned in a tweet that she will appeal the sentence and considers that the defendant’s mental disorder is “non-existent”.
