The Catalan Traffic Service has warned through its social networks of an intense retention that is registered this afternoon on the B-23, between Molins de Rei and the entrance to Avenida Diagonal de Barcelona, in the direction of Barcelona. The dispute between the Women’s Champions Barça-Chelsea match at the Camp Nou has made mobility difficult in a time slot that usually already registers mobility problems

An unexpected anticipation of the operation to leave on the occasion of the May 1 bridge, when 440,000 vehicles are expected to leave the Barcelona area, before which the Mossos will deploy 1,200 agents and activate more than 1,200 controls.

In a statement, Trànsit has pointed out the moments in which more traffic problems may be concentrated are Friday after 3:00 p.m., Saturday at noon and, on the way back, throughout Monday afternoon.

The special device will begin on Friday at 3:00 p.m. and will last until Monday at 12:00 a.m., in which surveillance will be reinforced with 1,202 Mossos d’Esquadra troops, in charge of carrying out more than 1,200 checks, mostly alcohol and drug tests and Passive security.

The roads where more delays are expected to accumulate during the departure are the AP-7 between Gelida and Sant Sadurní d’Anoia, Barberà and Llinars del Vallès and near Maçanet de la Selva; on the B-23 in Papiol, B-30 in Cerdanyola del Vallès, C-17 in Parets del Vallès and the C-58 between Barcelona and Sant Quirze del Vallès.

On the other hand, on the return the traffic jams will be concentrated in the sections of the AP-7 between Llinars and La Roca del Vallès, Vilafranca del Penedès and Sant Sadurní d’Anoia and near Castellbisbal.

The C-32 may also be congested between 5 and 10 pm on May 1 between Matarò, Teià, Viladecans and Sant Boi de Llobregat, Mataró and Montgat. Likewise, retentions could be recorded on the B-20 in Santa Coloma de Gramenet and the C-31 in Santa Cristina d’Aro.

To improve the flow of traffic during the return on Monday, in which the SCT predicts that some 270,000 vehicles will return to Barcelona, Trànsit plans to install additional lanes in the opposite direction to the usual one on the AP-7 between Vilafranca del Penedès and Molins de Rei and between Sant Celoni and Montornès del Vallès, as well as on the C-32 in Sant Andreu de Llavaneres.
