The Princes of Wales have shared a new image on their social networks to commemorate the birthday of Princess Charlotte (Charlotte, in the United Kingdom), who turns eight this Tuesday. Photographed by her mother, Kate Middleton —who seems determined to work as a photographer in the British royal family—, the little princess has revealed a friendly toothless smile and, like last year, Carlota’s image has surprised by his enormous resemblance to his father, Prince William.
The second daughter of the princes of Wales is already a style icon at the age of 8. The so-called Charlotte effect (Carlota Effect) makes the clothes that she wears in the few public events in which she participates run out. The Brand Finance consultancy estimated that this effect will mean more than 3,500 million euros for the British economy throughout the life of the princess. For her birthday portrait, Carlota wears a Trotters design that in a few hours has already sold out in almost all sizes.
From the image published on social networks by the princes of Wales on the occasion of this birthday, the princess continues to stand out due to the great resemblance that the little girl has with her father. In January 2020, during a visit to Bradford by the then-Dukes of Cambridge, Prince William pointed to a photograph of him from when he was little and asked: “Is it me? Because she looks so much like Charlotte. She’s amazing.”
To bring up her birthday celebrations this weekend, since the next one will be very busy with the coronation of Charles III, Kate Middleton has taken her daughter and a group of her friends to the Royal Opera House to see the Cinderella ballet, after which they were able to get to know the artists and the scenery more closely.
Princess Charlotte was born on May 2, 2015 amid criticism for her mother’s posing outside the Lindo wing of St. Mary’s Hospital in London, just seven hours after giving birth. This middle daughter of the princes of Wales was the first British princess to be born since 1990, when Princess Eugenie of York was born, and we will have to wait until her wedding – if Meghan Markle’s daughter Lilibeth does not marry before – to return to see a british princess dress up as a bride.
Like his older brother, he was a page at the wedding of his uncle, Prince Harry, with Meghan Markle, and, although he will not have any relevant role in this Saturday’s coronation, he is expected to appear with his family at the post-coronation parade. Along with her two brothers, Carlota studies at Lambrook School, located a few minutes drive from Adelaide Cottage, the new residence of the Princes of Wales on the outskirts of London.
