Pets are part of our life. When an animal is adopted, it becomes part of our family. For this reason, when someone suffers the death of a companion animal, it is a drink that is not easy to overcome.

Last Wednesday’s edition of the El Rincón section and the corner of the Hoy por Hoy radio program of Cadena SER has had a very clear testimony of how painful these mournings are, not always recognized or accepted by others.

The origin of everything has been the emotional testimony of Juan, a listener who has gone live to recount his story with his dog Trotsky through tears.

As explained by the same listener from Seville, Trotsky disappeared when he fled after Juan set off a firecracker. On his collar, the dog wore two ounces of silver that his owner had found in Mexico.

Months later, one night when his wife, Violeta, went down to take out the garbage, his wife called the phone. “Don’t you know who’s down here?” She told him. Juan imagined that they must be his father or his mother, but when he came down it was Trotsky. “We got tired of playing, he ate, I bathed him. The only thing he wanted was to hug him, ”he explained. However, what seemed like it was going to be a story with a happy ending, has had an unexpected final twist.

“The next day I was going to take him to the vet and all that stuff, but he died that night. He came home to die and to forgive me ”, he assured, leaving Àngels Barceló and the rest of those present frozen.

“Forgive me for breaking,” Juan said through tears while explaining this emotional story. Finally, after Trotsky’s death, his owner discovered that he still kept those two ounces of silver in his necklace, from which he has never parted again.
