José Miguel García, Director of the Motoh! Barcelona, has highlighted during the presentation of the event that “Since 2019 there was no motorcycle show in Barcelona; in 2021 it was prepared but it was suspended due to COVID restrictions. Therefore, these are 4 years in which motorcycle fans of the city have not had the opportunity to see the evolution of the sector of the two wheels”.

“In 1999 it was also the last time that the Motor Show and the Motorcycle Show coincided in Barcelona, so from Fira we believed that making them coincide again was a good initiative to take advantage of the synergies of the two industries. In addition, Given that global mobility is an increasingly inclusive concept, which includes personal mobility vehicles for one or two people, regardless of the wheels they have (1, 2, 3, 4…), I had all the commercial and organizational sense”.

“For the user -García has pointed out- it is interesting to have in the same contest all the current offer of cars, motorcycles, (combustion and electric), e-bikes, urban bicycles, scooters, and other personal mobility vehicles that make up the new 360º mobility. Until now this possibility did not exist and this year it will be a reality during the weekend of May 13 and 14, dates on which the two events will coexist”.

It should be remembered that the Motoh! Barcelona will be open to the public on May 11, 12, 13 and 14, while the Automobile Show will have conferences reserved for the press and professionals on May 11 and 12; from May 13 to 21 it will be open to the general public.

The distribution of spaces within the Montjuïc enclosure is configured in such a way that pavilion 7 will be dedicated to the motorcycle exhibition offer and the outdoor area in front of the 4 columns of Puig i Cadafalch will be dedicated to the test circuits, mostly for motorcycles electric and urban For its part, the tests of the largest displacement combustion motorcycles will be carried out on an outdoor route up the Montjuïc mountain, in open circulation conditions and with the presence of an accompanying monitor.

In this sense, the magic fountain will delimit the Automobile area (lower pavilions, towards Plaza de España) and the Motoh! (upper pavilion, towards the Montjuïc Palace). Likewise, the presence of external exhibitors of the Salón Automobile on Avinguda Maria Cristina (car tests with units of the different brands) will mean that in order to arrive by private vehicle to the Motoh! it is necessary to access through the adjacent streets (Lleida or Mèxic). In Avinguda Rius i Taulet there will be a special parking lot for motorcycles during the days of Thursday and Friday. Similarly, motorcycles may park on the sidewalks of Plaza de Espanya during the event.

As on previous occasions, the experiential part will have an important relevance. In this sense, Jordi Bracons, CEO of Kando Events and Commercial Director of the Motoh! stressed that “the event is a platform to give visibility to the motorcycle world in today’s complicated environment, which is why the brands are committed to a commercial format that allows the attending public to see, try and buy. Most of the firms present have confirmed special promotions through its network of dealers during the days of the show”.

There will be 125 test units available from 22 different brands, of which 43 of them will be urban and electric and 82 will be with combustion engines to cover the test routes outside the venue. These tests are carried out in a traffic environment with special circumstances such as the Montjuïc mountain, and with the presence and assistance of members of the Urban Police.

Other novelties in relation to the complementary activities of this year of the Motoh! Barcelona are a meeting of professionals from the sector organized together with MotoTaller, the leading magazine in the after-sales sector, or electric vehicle shows (karting, drifting and jumping) by specialist drivers that will take place in front of Hall 7 For its part, Seat Mo will be the show’s official motosharing firm, with a specific car park for its users, as well as other advantages and facilities.
