The implementation and assimilation of new technologies does not have the same rhythm for all people and companies. While some are still anchored in the more conventional internet, there are people like Félix Loureiro Etcheverria who have spent years leading the implementation of those technologies that promise to revolutionize the world as we know it.

Coming from the world of cybersecurity, Loureiro was one of the pioneers of web 2.0 with the start-up of Tillate, a startup that at the beginning of the century took advantage of the rise of the then innovative social networks. The entrepreneur also participated in the deployment of the first bitcoin network worldwide, based on blockchain. It was then that the technological visionary realized both the potential that this technology has for companies and the associated risks. In order to bring this technology closer to all people and companies, Loureiro founded the startup Sede Blockchain, in 2020.

From Barcelona and with a team of 18 people, Sede Blockchain develops custom applications and environments based on blockchain technology. They work for small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs), public institutions, investment funds, family offices… Their scope of action is national, but this year they want to start gaining a foothold in Latin America.

“From Blockchain Headquarters we advise SMEs on the real cost of this technology, we accompany them in decision-making and we execute all kinds of blockchain structures and networks”, summarizes Loureiro. “Our goal is to involve society in this new technology, make them see that it goes far beyond bitcoin, and make the friction between the user and the blockchain disappear,” adds the founder.

In addition to developing solutions for third parties, Sede Blockchain has its own projects. The startup company has created a certified product for the custody of crypto assets or digital assets. On the other hand, it has just closed a first project with a sustainable diamond company to guarantee their origin. Authorization by the National Securities Market Commission for the creation of a neobank is also pending. For all this, it has the help of IBM, with whom Sede Blockchain has reached an agreement to use its networks.

To get here, the startup has required an investment of 3.5 million euros, to which another two million euros will be added this year. The founder plans to end 2023 with a turnover of between 1.5 and two million euros.
